Commander Kelechi Ndukwe,from Okoko-item Abia state, on April 2, 2021 assumes command of a US Navy Guided Missile Destroyer, USS Halsey (DDG-97), making him the first Nigerian, and Nigerian-American to attain such height in US Navy history.
