Comedian I Go Save laments over the rising cost of disposing waste

Popular Nigerian Comedian, Otaghware Onodjayeke, better known as I Go Save, has called on the government to act as he claims LAWMA has increased monthly waste collection fee from N15,000 to N25,000 per month.

The comedian said those in his neighbourhood received a message from LAWMA via WhatsApp chat informing then of a 10,000 Naira increase in the LAWMA monthly fee for disposing waste.

He asked why waste disposition should be 25,000 Naira per month when the minimum wage is 30,000 Naira.

“How trash collect be more expensive than food?” the comedian questioned.

He also pointed out that such changes should be announced via LAWMA’s official platform and the account number given should be an official one. Yet, they received the message via WhatsApp and were given a private account to make the payment to.

He said he has spoken to his friend and colleague Buchi, who is a LAWMA ambassador but LAWMA won’t even listen to their ambassador.

He called on the Lagos State Governor,  Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to act.
